In addition to excess adipose tissue, there are even greater concerns associated with a condition that can often be more sinister and unsightly.
85% of post adolescent women report is the presence of cellulite. Men report a much lower figure, but it is not unheard of.
Under the skin, there are three layers of fat. The top layer is called the subcutaneous layer, and it is where cellulite occurs. The bottom two fat layers are “reserve” areas, where excess calories are stored as fat cells. Cellulite does not occur in these layers. In obese people, however, these two bottom layers push out the top cellulite layer, making it more noticeable. This phenomenon is depicted below.
In cellulite, the subcutaneous fat cells are pushed upwards, and the septae are pushed downwards. As a result, the fat cells are squeezed into small bulges that translate into lumps, and “orange peel” look of the skin. Because of aging, in women especially, skin begins to become thinner, and the septae become more fibrous. This results in the worsening of cellulite’s appearance. In obese people, the trapped subcutaneous fat is pushed outwards by the underlying layers of fat, thus also worsening the cellulite condition. One need not be obese, though, to want to diminish this condition as much as is possible.
The Skinny On Fat
Can Fat Cells Actually be destroyed?
The body stops producing fat cells during puberty, essentially. After that – you’re stuck with what you’ve got. The fat cells that you have will then become larger or smaller. So even when you lose a ton of weight, you don’t lose fat cells, the fat cells simply deflate. That was the good news. The bad news: when fat cells have expanded to their maximum size, they can divide, thus producing an increase in the actual number of fat cells. People with many fat cells may be able to shrink these cells and get great results, but since their fat cells don’t just disappear, they tend to regain lost weight rapidly if they’re not careful. Those menacing sponges are just waiting to be fed, so it takes real commitment and care to keep the volume of this layer at bay, permanently.
How About Some more good news?
Your body wants to burn fat. Literally. According to “Basic Medical Biochemistry – A Clinical Approach,” (pages: 29, 145, 203, 272, 357): Glucose is not the body’s preferred source of energy; fatty acids are. Shrink helps create the ideal environment for fat oxidation, wherever it is applied. It not only works on cellulite, it works on “love handles,” upper arms, the back, or anywhere there is unwanted excess fat whether cellulite is present or not. So arm yourself against the enemy. Use Shrink to combat fat!
